Bridging the Gap Between the Playing Field and the Podium
The Spark at Fenway
My journey to empower athletes began while standing in line at Fenway Park during my junior year of college, where I set an ambitious goal to see every Major League Baseball team play a home game. Through strategy and perseverance, I completed that quest in less than a decade, proving that tenacity is the foundation of any champion journey. That same drive now defines my professional mission to coach professionals and athletes to become champion communicators.
Building the Foundation
After watching a professional athlete struggle through a speech, I realized my doctorate in communication gave me the unique tools to help athletes speak with character, competence, and confidence. To break into the industry, I worked 'from the ground up' in ticket sales for the Dodgers and Angels before refining my training expertise as a corporate trainer for In-N-Out Burger. These experiences in the stands and on the sidelines taught me how communication can enhance or detract from a person's character and composure.
From the Classroom to the Field
My career path led me to work at USC where I facilitated training sessions for business students and taught public speaking to undergraduates including student-athletes. Seeing them grow as speakers—and receiving validation from industry experts on my specialized media sessions—confirmed that this was my calling. Today, I leverage my academic and industry background to ensure that athletes have the character, competence, and confidence to show up, suit up, and speak up for the game called life.
